My focus is primarily with light The source of this work evolved from an experience when I found myself alone in the grounds of one of England’s enigmatic stately homes. I was drawn to the sun’s rays falling through smoke hovering around two majestic cedars . This work explores that element of time becoming still, in an endeavor to capture a response to something, often missed . My enquiry, initiated through the making of an installation utilized a material by which threads connect the branches of the trees to the earth. The threads unfolded themselves to become intransigent objects harnessed in time . The experience required further investigation through photography and film and I found that I was exploring not only light but the passage of time.
